Washington Place Equities (WPE) and HDC MidAtlantic(HDC) are
pleased to announce exciting plans to transform the former UPMC
hospital campus into a mixed use, mixed-income development,
offering a diverse range of residential, retail and commercial
options to meet the needs of the community. This includes
market-rate and affordable housing options as well as retail and
offce space for local businesses. The development not only provides
a unique and rare opportunity to build new affordable rental
housing for 120 households, but ensures that everyone can
participate in and beneft from the transformation of the West End
at College Avenue. WPE has been chosen to serve as the contract
purchaser and developer of the former hospital and associated
buildings into a market rate, mixed use development. HDC will serve
as the developer and owner of the new construction affordable
housing, proposed on the master site and on two nearby parcels.
