Washington Place Equities (WPE) and HDC MidAtlantic(HDC) are pleased to announce exciting plans to transform the former UPMC hospital campus into a mixed use, mixed-income development, offering a diverse range of residential, retail and commercial options to meet the needs of the community. WPE is the contract purchaser and developer of the former hospital and associated buildings into a market rate, mixed use development. HDC will serve as the developer and owner of the new construction affordable housing, proposed on the master site and on two nearby parcels. This includes market-rate and affordable housing options as well as retail and offce space for local businesses. When completed, the overall development will include market-rate and affordable housing options as well as retail and commercial space for local businesses. WPE is actively moving through the land development process during 2022 and projects beginning construction on its property in early 2023.
